It’s been put through the ringer for centuries and yet it still always shines true that the good, the cream of the crop, always rises to the top. This is just as true in our little skateboarding universe as it is anywhere, or anytime, else.

Today, we bring to you two of the very best we’ve come across in a while. Two instant classics. Well, one instant classic and one new classic comprised of many classic clips both seen and unseen from the most influential companies of the last 20 years.

Kevin Terpening is proof that the future of skateboarding is bright. Sure, Street League and other big money competitions will continue to pop up all over the place and yes, people will continue to “train” at skateparks trying to prove that they are the best that the world has to offer and that they deserve to make more money than your parents do in a year for landing a single trick. But so long as skateboarders like Kevin Terpening are around to maintain the guard of skateboarding – All is good with the world and skateboarding, as we love it, will continue to thrive!

I don’t really know how the conversation and the decision process on this particular day went, but, I can imagine that it went something like this: Spend part of the day at the new Fergusson Skatepark in Rialto? Sure, why not? We can make a sweet little edit!

The Killing Season

Vietnam is not the hottest skate trip destination in the world. It’s quite far from the top of that list. It’s definitely much closer to the bottom than to the top of that list.

However that is exactly where photographer Jonathon Mehring and film maker Patrik Wallner took Joey Pepper, Jerry Hsu, Keegan Sauder, Michael Mackrodt, and Javier Mendizibal. With Skateboarder Magazine backing the trip the plan was to procure a motorbike for everyone and to ride nearly the entire length of the country while searching for adventure and untouched spots to skate.

What follows is the video account of the trip. Enjoy, be inspired, and go do something great.
